I don’t know for sure the actual cause of the deep ignorance around competition but it’s absurd. Maybe it’s lawyers?
Since all I do is research the competition for any company stands in stark relief to me. During the IPO process management teams avoid naming any other company as competition. This is true in their SEC filings as well.
I don’t know yet if Tru Shrimp is a good investment or not but I can say their CEO does what you would expect - know your competition!
It’s embarrassing to me when a management team pretends (I assume) that they don’t understand their competition.
Any business worth being in has competition - otherwise you don’t want to be there.
I’ve eaten some Tru Shrimp and found them pretty good. Maybe they will make it out and be successful. I’ll need to do more work there.
But the one thing I can say is that it’s refreshing that a CEO understands the market and is keeping a close eye on the competition.
If I don’t learn from you about your competition it speaks VOLUMES!
